Question:
How do I find a Good Investing Job away from New York City?
I'm a recent honors graduate from an accredited business school. I had a good gpa, graduated top of my class in Finance, and have a decent gmat score. My wife and I are moving to Austin, Texas so she can pursue a PhD at UT in psych. My problem is finding a good job away from NYC. I would love to pursue a career on Wall Street, but the PhD is blocking me for a few years. My internship opportunities as an undergrad were incredibly weak and geared toward sales. My passion is in trading (as was my primary focus as an undergrad), but I have yet to find a job that will lead me to a path as a trader. I get tons of phone calls about sales jobs. They can hire anybody for sales. I have friends with sales jobs for banks that have degrees in chemistry and health science. I do not want a sales job. I need something that is challenging, fast paced, intellectually stimulating, and exciting. How do I find a trading job away from NYC and in the area I desire?
