Which school has higher prestige - UT Austin or Georgia Tech?
Our child has been accepted in both places. We want him to go to UT because it is closer to home in Texas. But he feels Georgia Tech is a better engineering school and he would get in-state tuition after the first year.

no, seriously, though, georgia tech is annually ranked top 5. it's pretty hardcore over there, though. when I went there, after getting only 30 min of sleep one night in the first week of school, I complained about it to one of my friends there. wide-eyed and perky, he told me he "got lots of sleep!" I asked him how many hours did he get. his answer? about 2 and a half.
great school, though. great athletics program too.
