salary?

Question:
what salary should one expect working for a mid-size company with the following Cobol education:

Self-Educated? Certificate by a Technical/vocational institute? Degree by a Technical/vocational Institute?

Answer:
The question is too open-ended. With those particular education backgrounds, a major factor in salary would be how much experience the programmer has, and how good they were at their job.

A good programmer, self-starter and knows what they are doing, doesn't screw up more code than they fix, with 2 years experience should make $25,000 - $30,000 on W2 with a VoTech degree. Maybe slightly less for a certificate or self-educated. Slightly more if the programmer can sling some CICS code and is familiar with JCL.
